The Hotel Deer Lodge was built in 1912 as a lavish railroad hotel, one of the finest in Montana. The Hotel Deer Lodge featured amenities like an elevator as well as hot and cold running water. Up until the 1980’s when it closed and fell into disrepair, Hotel Deer Lodge served as a vibrant social hub. After several failed revivals and many years of neglect, the historic building (even though it had a variety of ideas of how to preserve it) was falling into a deeper hole of lost opportunities.

As of the 24th day of September 2025 New Ownership and a New Board of 9 possible Directors were voted in. Putting the long past of failed preservation attempts to rest. Moving forward we will due our diligence to head this project in the most positive of directions, and help bring our community together.
